Best Apps for Busy Dog Owners

You have lots of things to juggle in your busy life: your job, your friends, your family, and, of course, your furry best friend! If you're always on-the-go, here are some of the best apps for you and your pup.

Rover/Wag/Barkly Pets

If you have long work days and still want your pup to get exercise, then one of these is the app for you! All of these apps let you request dog walkers who will go to your house, and using, a lock box provided by the apps, take your pup for a walk! You'll even get to watch their progress on an app so that you know exactly where they're going. Your home is also insured under each of these apps so that you can rest easy. 

iCam

If you love seeing what your pup is up to when you're out, this is the app for you. To use this software, you'll need to download iCamSource and the iCam app for a minimal fee. It's worth it, though, since you'll be able to keep an eye on your pup with you iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. 

BringFido

BringFido is a great app for if you're on the go with your pup. You can type your location or destination into this free app and it will give you nearby dog-safe establishments, from hotels to restaurants. You can also use filters so that you know whether the location is good for your pup's size. 

Rover (for Sitters)

While Rover was initially just a dog-walking app, it joined forces with an app called DogVacay to connect you to dogsitters all around. If you travel a lot, this app is perfect because it connects you with trusted sitters (you can read reviews) and can give you options to either let your pup stay at the sitter's house or have the sitter come to your house. 

Tagg

If you're willing to spend a bit of money, this app and its tracker companion is worth it. While the app itself is free, the tracker companion as well as a monthly subscription are added fees. However, this is a nice peace of mind for when your dog manages to get out of the yard or get away from a sitter, as you'll be able to track their location in real time so that you can get to them right away.
